Jan Sofat

The Jan Sofat Neighborhood Association

About Us

Jan Sofat is an exclusive, residential, gated community on the Spanish Water. The setting offers peace and privacy away from the bustle and tourism, yet remains a short distance from the city, beaches, and other amenities. The neighborhood comprises roughly 400 luxury villas and modern apartments, laid out generously in a green environment with beautiful views over the Spanish Water and the iconic Tafelberg. Some villas are located directly on the water and have private docks. Thanks to 24/7 security and access control, residents enjoy a safe and relaxed living environment—ideal for true peace of mind.

Living

Jan Sofat applies a house rules framework that sets out arrangements on community living, safety, and the use of facilities within our residential community. These provisions support a safe, respectful, and pleasant environment for everyone.

Building

Planning to build at Jan Sofat? First submit your building plans to Spanish Water Resort N.V. for review. Once approved, apply for the building permit with ROP. After the permit has been issued, notify the neighborhood association of the construction works before you start (including start date, contractor/supplier, and expected duration).

Jan Sofat
Residents Association

Residents associations can play an important role in strengthening communities. To ensure that everyone enjoys a pleasant living environment, a functioning, well-organized residents association is essential.

For this reason, the Resident Association Jan Sofat (in Dutch: ‘Buurtvereniging Jan Sofat’) was established in 1987.
